Winter storm warning for Greene County

Greene County could receive as much as 8 inches of snow Thursday afternoon into early Friday morning. According to the National Weather Service, a narrow band of heavy snow is predicted, falling at rates of 1 inch or more per hour at times. Snow amounts will vary considerably near this band, and may be several inches different across only 10-20 miles.

Gusty north winds of 15-20+ miles per hour will result in lower visibility while snow is falling, and may cause road impacts to linger into Friday.

High temperatures the next several days will be near or slightly below freezing. Where more substantial snowfall accumulations occur, snow will be slow to melt.
